The year 2011 is drawing to a close, and now we wish to thank all our customers and business partners for the current year and tell you about the latest events in our UNICEF cooperation project. As in previous years, we will donate all money reserved for corporate gifts to development cooperation.
Lindström is committed to the WASH project, which began in 2008, in collaboration with UNICEF Finland and local government. The objective of the project is to increase access to clean water, build more sanitary facilities and raise hygiene awareness in India.
The first three-year period of the project ended in 2011 with great success. The new three-year project, which started in June, is taking place in the state of Madhya Pradesh. During the first year, a foundation will be created through charting and development efforts for implementing the project, and promotion of hygiene awareness in schools will commence immediately.
The target group includes 150 schools and 37,500 schoolchildren for whom the improved sanitary facilities and good level of hygiene awareness will also have more extensive social significance: absences will decrease and fewer children will drop out of school. Furthermore, the children will pass on good hygiene awareness and information on wise use of water to their parents and communities.
We at Lindström are very grateful to be able to continue our cooperation for this important cause.
We thank you again for the current year and wish all of you a very successful 2012!
